Dental Implants
What are dental implants?
Dental implant technology has revolutionised tooth replacement in dentistry. Previously if a tooth or teeth were lost the only options available for replacement were:
Removable Dentures
or
Fixed Bridge (involves cutting 2 teeth on either side and cementing a porcelain shaped tooth to the cut teeth)
even thou the above procedures are still very common they are slowly being overtaken by Dental Implants as people are becoming more aware of their advantages which include:
- Dental implants look and feel like your own teeth. ...
- better speech
- enhanced comfort
- Comfort during eating
- Confidence
- Improved oral health
- longevity
Dental implants involve placing a titanium screw in the jaw bone and attaching a porcelain tooth to the top of the implant screw.
Why have your dental implants placed at Nexgen Dental?
The thought of dental implant surgery can be very daunting and scary. At Nexgen Dental we are trained in the latest and most technologically advanced equipment to make your implant surgery as quick, painless, successful and affordable as possible. All imaging and surgical procedures are carried out in house for your convenience. In the past implant surgery involved a great deal of guess work, large gum incisions, sutures (also known as stiches), severe post op pain and prolonged healing time. The Dental surgeons at Nexgen Dental have introduced the MIS implant system that utilises the M-Guide which is the most accurate implant surgical guide on the market. With the use of the MIS implant system the whole implant to crown procedure is pre-planned on a computer which allows us to achieve the most optimal surgical result every single time. The implant placement procedure can take as little as five minutes with no cutting, no sutures, no pain, minimal bleeding and no post-operative pain or swelling.
Guided Surgery immediately post-op vs Freehand Surgery immediately post-op

Frequently Asked Questions
If you have missing teeth a dental implant can be a great option for you. In order to find out if you are a good candidate we would assess your bone levels by taking a 3D scan in our clinic. Once you have been given the okay by our dental practitioners, we will book you in for the dental implant procedure which involves placing a titanium implant and waiting for the bone to heal. After 2.5 - 3 months you would come back in to take measurements and then 2-3 weeks after that your crown will be fitted on top of the dental implant.
