Teeth straightening is more than possible if orthodontic treatment is applied at the right time. Orthodontics is the clinical science of aligning teeth, with the ultimate goal being to achieve the perfect smile and an ideal occlusal bite (the way the jaw comes together). Having straight teeth not only gives a person the confidence to smile but also allows a person to be able to clean effectively allowing them to prevent the onset of gum disease.
We recommend all children have an orthodontic consultation at the age of 7. At this early stage interceptive treatment may be carried out to prevent the child requiring a full course of orthodontic treatment in their early teens, or in some cases even prevent irreversible damage.
At Nexgen Dental we use the latest technology in tooth alignment allowing us to straighten teeth rapidly and painlessly. We also offer ceramic brackets for patients that want to keep their treatment discreet or coloured for those that want to flaunt their orthodontic appliance. Teeth whitening is the ideal, safe and easy way to make your smile sparkle. It removes the intrinsic staining that is present on your teeth without abrading your teeth the way that tooth whitening toothpaste does. At Nexgen dental we offer 3 different methods of tooth whitening:
- Take home tooth whitening: With this method custom bleaching trays are made for the patient and bleaching syringes are given to the patient to take home with them. The patient uses the bleaching trays for 1 hour a night. A substantial result will typically take 2-3 weeks before being noticed.
- In office Laser Whitening: With this method at Nexgen Dental we utilise the latest in laser technology to achieve teeth that are several shades whiter then when you first started. This method takes around 1 1/2 hours in the dental chair to achieve an optimum result.
- Ultra whitening: This consists of a combination of first in office laser whitening followed by the patient being issued with a take home whitening kit. This is the method of tooth whitening that we strongly recommend at Nexgen Dental as it provides the greatest result.

In addition to straightening and whitening, we offer select options for cosmetic dentistry at our Belmore clinic. Your choice will depend on the current health and appearance of your teeth, as well as your goals in terms of appearance. Your dentist can advise you on the below options.
A thin layer of porcelain placed over the front tooth surface. The purpose of the veneer is to improve the appearance of a tooth, or to protect a damaged tooth surface. The porcelain veneer is fabricated by a dental technician in a dental laboratory, and bonded to the tooth at the following appointment.
A type of restorative cosmetic dentistry which completely caps a tooth or dental implant. Crowns are often used to improve the strength or appearance of teeth. At Nexgen Dental we use the latest in materials to have our crowns fabricated by a highly skilled dental technician which ensures amazing aesthetics and longevity.
At Nexgen Dental we provide free children consultations whenever they are accompanied by a paying adult. We are experienced at looking after children's dental needs. Our child friendly treatment rooms are fitted with TV screens on the ceiling playing their favourite shows, and our caring friendly team, ensure your child’s visits are fun and stress free. Each child will also receive a free dental goodies bag during their dental visit.
Nexgen Dental is also a participant in the Grow up Smiling dental health scheme which is part of the National Dental Health Reform that aims to provide basic dental cover for children between the ages of 2 to 17 years. This program will provide eligible families with a benefit capped at $1000 per child over a two year period from the 1st of January 2014. Contact us for more information.
At Nexgen Dental we believe that general dentistry is the cornerstone to oral health which is why our dentists are highly trained and thorough with diagnosing problems early on before they become major issues. We work with the philosophy that “prevention is better than cure” which is why our dentists educate all their patients with customised oral hygiene instructions that apply to that patient as a standard component of the initial consultation.
We offer all the general dental services which may be required by you and your family which includes check up’s, cleans, fillings, and xrays. Your visit will be as pain-free, pleasant and stress-free as possible which means you will be more likely to join our 6 monthly recall program designed to help you keep your teeth forever.
Endodontic treatment (root canal therapy) is carried out to save a tooth where the nerve has been badly damaged due to decay, disease or injury. Many millions of teeth each year are saved from extraction by having root canal treatment.
At Nexgen Dental you have stepped into the future as we use the latest in endodontic technology to ensure a painfree, comfortable and successful procedure (long gone is the myth that root canals are painful). We utilise rotary endodontics to ensure the root canal of the tooth is properly debrided and free from bacteria before it is permanently sealed. This technique is fast, pain free and provides higher success rates compared to hand file debridement which was performed early on and is still performed by many dental practices out there.
Visiting the dentist is daunting for many people which could lead to years of neglect of their oral health. At Nexgen Dental we provide an environment and many options to help patients feel comfortable coming to visit the dentist.
IV sedation allows us to perform large amounts of treatment in a short period of time for nervous or anxious patients. A qualified anaesthetist will provide this service at a cost. The cost consists of an anaesthetist fee with the patient being entitled to a rebate from Medicare. Nexgen Dental does not add a surcharge to our fees for the patient choosing to undergo sedation unlike other dental practices.
